Fyrestorm Cheer Grand Opening
Saturday, August 16, 9:30-11:30am Come and cheer on our new tenant, Arizona All-Star Fyrestorm Cheer, in its new location in the Mesquite Building at Santa Cruz Commerce Center. During its Grand Opening celebration this Saturday, kids from 3-18 can participate in a free dance/stunt clinic and meet the coaches including owner and Gym Director, Beth Mundell; Head Program Coach Aimee Schneidt; Head Coaches Michelle Rose and Maria Maya; and Assistant Coaches Kate Mundell, Hayley Bates, Anastasia Stamatis, Lexi Rosales and Lucia Egelston.
With support from volunteer Business Board Members Janelle Lindseth, Business Manager; Julie Lostritto, Operations Manager; Beth Huerta, Head Team Mom; and Leslie Carillo, Branding Coordinator; Beth Mundell, a 20-year coaching veteran, opened her franchise of Arizona All Stars in May of 2012. Since that time, Fyrestorm Cheer has doubled in size with more growth expected this year.
Mundell has been coaching both school and all-star cheer in Maricopa since moving to the area five years ago. Her various teams have taken multiple first place championship awards, top sportsmanship awards, ranked 5th in the nation in 2011 and second at US Finals in 2012. Mundell was also the only cheer coach and one of only four females in a group of 25 to be named the Positive Coaching Alliance Coach of the Year in 2011.
Fyrestorm Cheer will be open for cheer coaching Monday through Thursday from 5-9pm. In addition, they will offer a Hot Mamas conditioning class every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:30am. Other offerings soon to be added will include a burlesque clinic for women 18+; adult hip hop clinics; Mommy & Me infant classes; and Toddler Cheer. Look for fundraisers throughout the year. For more information, you can email fyrestormcheer@gmail.com or check out their Facebook page.
Mundell is enthusiastic about her new location. “I loved that the space was PERFECT for my business!” she said. “For a new business starting out, the price was affordable and terms doable for us. We could not have made this dream a reality anywhere else.”
